Aerworx Aerators
Product Information
Why Aerate?
Whether you are livestock or arable farmer, Aerworx Aerators are an essential component in the regeneration of your soil, particularly if it is already compacted, as a lot of UK soils are. By alleviating compaction, you are building soil resilience to the extreme weather events we are seeing: capturing as much rain as possible during the wetter months and retaining water for the periods of dry weather as a resource for continual plant growth. all whilst providing the optimal environment for soil biology to thrive. The importance of the interaction between soil structure – biology – chemistry of our soils is now widely recognised, and as this balance restores, the need for synthetic inputs reduces and the effects of these extreme weather events becomes less.
Other applications include equestrian paddock management; equestrian competition grass surfaces; airfields, golf courses, sports fields, estate grounds, vineyards, orchards, and grass car park maintenance…. or just about anywhere where the is ground compaction.
The “Slot & Shatter” Effect of Aerworx
By fracturing your subsoil by up to 30cm you will improve soil health creating that essential porous environment resulting in:
- Improved water penetration and retention, preventing run off and water logging. [ Infiltration rates increase by over 72%]
- Improved oxygenation of the soil to help soil biology ( microbes and worms), required for the break down of organic matter and releasing nutrients for plant growth.
- Improved root growth that doesn’t have to struggle through a hard pan in dry, oxygen and nutrient deprived conditions
This ultimately results in:
- Resilience against water logging, erosion, run off, drought
- Increased grass yields [ Dry matter yield increased x 24 for aerated grassland compared to non aerated grassland ]
- Increased grazing periods
- Reduction in fertiliser costs
- Any supporting applications that are required are retained in your soil and not wasted in run off
How?
The kinetic energy of the weight and speed of the bladed aerator on a single pass will cause a shattering effect whilst the penetrating slits allow the ingress of water

Why You Need an AerWorx Aerator
AerWorx aerators improve soil aeration, boost grass growth, and enhance pasture performance. Built with precision and strength, these machines deliver exceptional results across a wide range of soil types, from heavy clay to rocky soils.
AerWorx aerators are designed to slice the soil surface and break up tightly packed subsoil (the dense layer beneath the topsoil). With a properly weighted, well-designed aerator, the soil becomes more permeable, allowing water and air to move through more easily. The aerator’s weight and movement create a shattering effect of up to 30cm in one pass. The slits in the soil allow water to soak in without leaving the soil exposed, keeping the surface covered and preventing erosion. Because of this unique shattering effect, the aerator is most effective when used in dry conditions.
The Science Behind Aeration
For soil to stay healthy, it needs permeability (the ability of water to pass through) and a balanced structure (a mix of sand, silt, and clay particles arranged to allow air and water movement). Livestock, machinery, and weather can compact the ground over time. This restricts water flow and root growth. AerWorx aerators use a no-till shattering method, which breaks up soil layers without turning over the entire surface. This method slices the surface and breaks up the dense subsoil below. This technique loosens dense soil layers without disturbing the topsoil. It helps restore airflow and improve drainage. This leads to better soil permeability (how easily water moves through soil), increased microbial activity (the presence and actions of beneficial soil organisms), and a better environment for roots. With this no-till method, farmers also retain carbon in the soil, supporting more sustainable, regenerative farming practices.
How AerWorx Aerators Work
AerWorx designs focus on robust engineering. A heavy drum with balanced blades delivers deep penetration for complete impact aeration. Each model withstands the harshest field conditions. Aerators are built for tough conditions, with high-quality construction for years of service.
AerWorx aerators operate at 10–16 kph for efficiency. They maintain consistent depth and accuracy. With optimal weight per metre, every pass achieves ground contact. This holds even across uneven terrain, heavy clay, and rocky soils.
AerWorx balances power and finesse. You benefit from no-till shatter aeration without disturbing the natural soil ecosystem.
The Benefits of Aeration
During the summer aeration period, the benefits of aeration stand out. New soil channels help retain water more efficiently. Moisture penetrates deeper into the root zone, resulting in stronger, deeper roots. Pastures are better able to withstand dry spells.
Farmers using AerWorx machines notice quick results. Grass grows more vigorously, nutrient absorption improves, and pastures recover faster after grazing. This method protects soil structure and retains carbon.
The Smart Choice for Productive Soil Aeration
Choosing an AerWorx aerator is a smart investment because it can transform your land. The AerWorx aerator is suited for grassland, pasture, or general soil aeration. These machines deliver measurable results: healthier soil, stronger roots, and reduced soil compaction.
AerWorx aerators revitalise soil, reduce compaction, and build lasting productivity.
