Forestry Winches
Forest Winches for Sale
PJM Agri supplies forest winches to customers across Norfolk, Suffolk and the surrounding East Anglia area. These are used by forestry contractors, farmers and landowners who need a practical way to move timber without relying on heavy machinery.
A forestry winch is often the simplest answer when access is poor or the ground is uneven. Dense woodland, narrow tracks and soft ground can make vehicle access difficult. A tractor-mounted winch allows timber to be pulled out safely and steadily, without excessive manual effort.
All forest winches supplied by PJM Agri are chosen for reliability and robust construction. If you are unsure which winch suits your tractor or the type of work you do, our team can talk it through with you and point you in the right direction.
LWC Heavy Duty Winches
Forest Winches in Norfolk, Suffolk and East Anglia
PJM Agri stocks a range of forest winches that are built to work in real conditions. These machines are used regularly in wet ground, woodland tracks and uneven terrain.
The winches fit to the rear of the tractor using a standard three-point linkage. Once fitted, they are straightforward to use and require very little manual handling. This makes them suitable for general woodland work, firewood extraction and timber movement.
We supply forestry equipment to customers across Norfolk and Suffolk, focusing on machinery that is practical, dependable and easy to live with. Clear pricing and honest advice come as standard.
Quality Forestry Winches to Suit Your Needs
Our forestry winch range includes models suited to different workloads. We currently supply Fransgard Forestry Winches and LWC Heavy-Duty Winches.
Both ranges can be matched with a wide selection of tractor sizes and are commonly used for pulling timber across rough ground, slopes and woodland floors. They are designed to give steady pulling power and good control rather than speed.

Fransgard Forest Winches
Fransgard forest winches are well known for their simple design and dependable performance in everyday forestry work. Developed in close collaboration with working foresters, these winches have been refined over time through real-world user feedback from across the UK and beyond. This practical approach makes them a popular choice for both professional operators and private woodland owners.
The mechanical layout is deliberately uncomplicated, helping keep running costs low and making the winch easy to use and maintain. Wearing parts are economical to replace, and routine servicing is straightforward. Because of this simple design, new users tend to become comfortable with operating a Fransgard winch very quickly, even with limited previous experience.
A sliding clutch system is fitted as standard to prevent overload, helping to protect both the tractor and the winch during heavy pulls. Steel wire rope is the main wear component, and its service life can be extended by using chains when attaching logs. This small detail can make a noticeable difference during regular use.
Fransgard winches are available with pulling capacities from 3,000 kg to 6,500 kg, covering most small to medium forestry jobs. Models are suitable for tractors ranging from approximately 25 HP through to 110 HP, with Cat I, II and III three-point linkage options depending on model size. This makes the Fransgard range flexible enough to suit a wide variety of tractors and forestry applications.
LWC Heavy Duty Winches
LWC Heavy Duty Winches are designed for more demanding forestry work that requires higher pulling power. They are commonly used when handling larger timber or working through higher volumes, particularly in commercial or contractor-led forestry operations.
The LWC range includes the W03 (3.5 tonne), W08 (8 tonne) and W13 (13 tonne) models, giving users the option to match the winch to both the tractor size and the type of work being carried out. This range makes LWC winches suitable for everything from heavier estate work through to large-scale timber extraction.
These winches are built to cope with repeated use in tough working conditions and are intended for operators who need consistent pulling power throughout the working day. Their straightforward design focuses on strength and reliability rather than unnecessary features.
Please note that all LWC winches and equipment are subject to a 2–3-week lead time, and all prices shown are exclusive of VAT.
Why Use a Forestry Winch?
Moving timber by hand is slow and physically demanding. It also carries risk. A forestry winch allows logs to be pulled from a safe distance with far greater control.
Winches are especially useful where machinery cannot reach the timber directly. Logs can be pulled around obstacles, up slopes or along narrow tracks without damaging surrounding trees or ground conditions.
Heavy Duty Winches for Larger Jobs
For larger timber or commercial forestry work, a heavy-duty winch can make a noticeable difference. Higher pulling capacity reduces the number of pulls needed and speeds up extraction.
These winches are designed to remain stable under load and perform consistently over long working periods. Their heavier construction makes them suitable for demanding, repeated use.
Forest Winches for Woodland Work
Good woodland management depends on removing timber without causing unnecessary damage. Forest winches allow trees and fallen timber to be extracted in a controlled way.
If timber is left unmanaged, access routes can become blocked and working areas harder to reach. Using a winch helps keep tracks clear and reduces ground disturbance compared to dragging logs by other means.
Forestry Winches that are Built for Year-Round Use
Forestry work does not stop when conditions become difficult. Wet ground, winter weather and heavy use all place extra demands on equipment.
The forest winches supplied by PJM Agri are built to cope with these conditions. During wetter months, controlled extraction helps reduce soil damage. In drier periods, winches allow timber to be moved efficiently without unnecessary disruption.
Choosing the Right Forestry Winch with PJM Agri
All forest winches supplied by PJM Agri fit via a rear three-point linkage and are compatible with a wide range of tractors. Setup is straightforward, and ongoing maintenance is simple with regular checks.
Our range includes lighter-duty winches for smaller woodland jobs, as well as heavier models for large-scale forestry work. With several pulling capacities available, we can help you choose a winch that suits your tractor and the work you actually do.
