Available Fence Post Mowers

Barrier Mower RI60 & R82

The Barrier Mower RI60 & R82 are both ideal solutions for maintaining fence lines, guardrails, orchards, and vineyards. The fenceline mower goes around every obstacle, whether that be fence posts, crash barriers, or trees.

  • Explicitly designed for the maintenance of fence lines, guardrails, orchards and vineyards.
  • Ground clearance from base to cutting head is approximately. 15 cm that allows mowing under most fences and guardrails.
  • Uses a spring-suspended, free-hanging plate with strong up‑draft blades, providing an even cut. The anti-scalp protection disc prevents blades from cutting into the ground. Available in working widths of 0.6 m (60 cm) or 0.8 m (80 cm) and in left‑ or right-hand versions to suit your layout.
  • Requires hydraulic connection (double acting + drain) with a minimum oil flow of 40 l/min @ 190 bar, though 25 l/min is an acceptable alternative.
  • Lightweight: approx. 45 kg (0.6 m version) or 60 kg (0.8 m version), which makes handling and mounting easier.
  • Cutting speed: up to around 3 km/h (≈ 1.86 mph), enabling safe mowing around fences and obstacles.

TS600 ATV Trailed Strimmer (ATV‑Mounted Mower)

A more compact, ATV-compatible fence and verge mower for proper use on small holdings, paddocks, gardens or narrow fence lines where a larger tractor-mounted mower is impractical.

TS600 PRO ATV Trailed Strimmer

A professional-grade version of the TS600, likely offering enhanced durability or performance, is suitable for ATV users maintaining fences, pathways or rights-of-way.

Purpose-built British Fence Post Mowers from PJM Agri Ltd

Our selected fence post mowers are purpose-built for fenceline, orchard, vineyard, or boundary maintenance, ideal if you need to mow under, around, or between fence posts, rails, or guard rails.

  • Their low-profile cutting head (just 15 cm off the ground) allows mowing under fences without damaging them, while anti-scalp discs protect blades and ground surface.
  • Available in multiple widths (0.6 m or 0.8 m) and in left- or right-handed versions, giving flexibility depending on your layout and mowing direction.
  • Lightweight enough to mount on tractors, skid-steers or even ATVs, enabling use across a variety of holdings, from small paddocks to larger farms.
  • Hydraulic mounting compatibility and reasonable oil-flow requirements make them usable with a wide range of loading/mowing machines.

Fence Post Mower FAQ

What is a fence post mower?

A fence post mower is a specialist mower designed to cut grass, weeds and vegetation along fence lines, guard rails, orchards, vineyards or boundary edges (especially around fence posts) or other obstacles where a standard mower would struggle.

What kind of ground clearance does a fence post mower have?

The Barrier Mower RI60 / R82 features a cutting head plate at approx. 15 cm (6 inches) above ground, which is low enough to mow under fences or guardrails.

Can I mow under or between fences safely without damaging posts?

Yes. The spring‑suspended plate and anti‑scalp protection disc of the RI60/R82 help avoid damaging the ground or cutting into the soil, and the mower’s design helps work around fence posts without uprooting or damaging them.

What machine do I need to run a fence post mower?

You will need a tractor, skid-steer loader, or front-end loader fitted with a compatible attachment frame (e.g., a “Multi Carrier” frame) or a hitch, depending on the mower model.

For ATV-compatible versions (like the TS600), a suitable ATV/trailer configuration is required.

What width options are available?

PJM Agri supplies fence post mowers with working widths of 0.6 m (60 cm) and 0.8 m (80 cm) in the case of the RI60/R82.

Is delivery available across the UK?

Yes, PJM Agri deliver machinery across the UK, including frequent orders to and from East Anglia (Suffolk & Norfolk).

PJM Agri recently supplied my company with a new Greentec Spider 520-6 Plus and Flail Head. From placing the order to dropping off the tractor and having the machine fitted, the entire process was made easy by James and Peter. They know the machines inside and out and even though the Greentec seems to be robust, I feel very confident in PJM Agri's dealer backup should need the arise. They certainly know what they're doing and I won't hesitate to use their services in future. I am one very happy customer!

Great service & the best price I could find for the harrows I wanted. They were in stock, and arrived in days, fully assembled. Great communication with PJM, as I required a tail lift delivery, which was seamlessly arranged at no extra charge. Great harrows too, just the right balance of weight and aggression to leave a perfect surface.
