What is an ATV Flail Mower?
An ATV flail mower is a durable piece of equipment designed to be towed behind an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). Unlike conventional rotary mowers, flail mowers use a series of flail-like blades attached to a rotating drum. These blades, known as “flails,” efficiently cut through thick grass, weeds, and even small saplings. This makes them suitable for both residential and commercial applications, offering a uniform cut that helps maintain a healthy lawn.
How to Operate an ATV Flail Mower
Operating an ATV flail mower is simple. Once attached to the ATV, the mower can be moved across all terrains, from level lawns to uneven fields. The flexible movement and powerful cutting system ensure efficient coverage of large areas, which is particularly beneficial for those managing extensive properties or clearing overgrown fields quickly.
ATV Flail Mower Versatility
Flail mowers mulch cut vegetation, returning nutrients to the soil. This process supports healthy lawn growth and encourages a lush appearance. With their adaptable design, flail mowers efficiently handle a wide range of vegetation, providing a comprehensive solution for landscaping tasks.
Benefits of Using an ATV Flail Mower
One of the primary benefits of using an ATV flail mower is its ability to handle tough vegetation. Unlike traditional mowers that may struggle with thick or overgrown areas, flail mowers can cut through dense grass, weeds, and even small brush with ease. This makes them an excellent choice for both residential properties with challenging landscapes and commercial spaces that require regular maintenance.
Another significant advantage is the efficiency and speed with which these mowers operate. Because an ATV tows them, they can cover large areas more quickly than manual push mowers or smaller ride-on mowers. This efficiency is particularly valuable for property owners and managers who need to maintain extensive grounds without investing excessive time and labour.

PJM Agri recently supplied my company with a new Greentec Spider 520-6 Plus and Flail Head. From placing the order to dropping off the tractor and having the machine fitted, the entire process was made easy by James and Peter. They know the machines inside and out and even though the Greentec seems to be robust, I feel very confident in PJM Agri's dealer backup should need the arise. They certainly know what they're doing and I won't hesitate to use their services in future. I am one very happy customer!

Great service & the best price I could find for the harrows I wanted. They were in stock, and arrived in days, fully assembled. Great communication with PJM, as I required a tail lift delivery, which was seamlessly arranged at no extra charge. Great harrows too, just the right balance of weight and aggression to leave a perfect surface.
